Trayvon Martin Legacy By Nadia M.

Nadia M. 3/31/12 Trayvon Martin Legacy On February 26, 2012, a sadness tragedy of innocent 17 years old boy, who was African American high school junior, who was shot and killed by a white community watch coordinator named George Zimmerman. He died at his dad's fiancée hometown in The Retreat twin: Lakes in Sanford, Florida. After I was reading and watching videos about Trayvon Martin, I wanted to break out of tears of an innocent boy that got shot just because he was wearing a hoodie and looked suspicious. I readed this one story that I strongly agreed that is soo true. A person named Rabbi Shmuley Boteach wrote a story of Trayvon Martin called "Trayvon Martin and Race: A sober assessment". It talked about racial profile towards George Zimmerman. I also agreed with him that Zimmerman is racist because he shot an innocent black boy for no reason and all the boy had is skittles and an ice tea. Then he lied to the police that it was self-defense. How can it be self-defense? I! t made me think that it wasn't self-defense at all. He just thought a black boy walking in the night by himself through the neighbor having a hoodie on his head, immediately made him think that he had a weapon on him. He called the police to describe the boy and then the police told him not to follow him because they were coming but he didn't listen and follow him anyway. He thought he could do it by himself because if he waited too long, the boy might get away. Trayvon was getting scared that he was ...
